Anthology Senior Living’s response to COVID-19 / APRIL 14
April 14, 2020
To our residents, resident families and team members:
As we all continue to adapt to life in the face of COVID-19, I want to provide another update on the precautionary health and safety measures that have been put in place at Anthology Senior Living, as well as the additional steps being taken to further ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of our residents and team members. In addition to what I shared last week, here are a few updates:
- Extended the admission ban – to ensure that residents from outside our community do not bring the virus into our communities, we have extended the admissions ban by an additional week
- Extended in-room quarantine – to help eliminate resident to resident transmission and reduce resident and staff exposure, the in-room quarantine has been extended by an additional two weeks.
- Team member appreciation – we have increased the hourly wage and expanded the PTO benefits for our team members to show how much we appreciate them. This wage increase and expanded benefits have been extended by an additional two weeks.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) – we continue to receive large shipments of PPE at both the communities and our central inventory. We are seeing the supply chain begin to work again and delivery periods and prices shrink. PPE help to keep both our residents and team members safe.
While the physical health of our residents and staff is a top priority for us, so is the emotional wellbeing of everyone that we serve. We understand that keeping residents engaged and active is more important than ever during shelter in place orders and in-room quarantines in order to combat feelings of isolation. Our Socially Distanced Engagement Program is continuing to be implemented at our Anthology Senior Living communities, providing residents with three daily activities that focus on the mind, body and spirit to keep them mentally stimulated and physically active.
Our Amazon Echo Dot pilot program was a success at our community in Pittsburgh allowing residents easy access to news, weather, music and other general topics. We are rolling this out to residents that opted-in at other community locations. We are continuing to work with team members and residents to implement new ways of promoting safe resident engagement.
We know that being unable to visit a loved is so difficult, especially during such a stressful and uncertain time and we are continuing to explore ways to keep our residents and families connected. We encourage you to keep lines of communication open through phone, email and video calls.
We will continue to post updates on our website at www.anthologyseniorliving.com and through email to keep you informed. Should you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to the community Executive Director or email our corporate team at information@anthologyseniorliving.com.
Our focus on the health and safety of our communities would not be possible without the dedication of our Anthology team members who have continued to deliver the same high-quality care and service to our residents during this time. Additionally, we are so appreciative of all our residents and family members for continuing to entrust us with taking care of their loved ones and relying on us as we move through this difficult time together.
Sincerely,
Benjamin Burke
President, Anthology Senior Living
